The village boy Janek has heroic strength: he overcame a bear and even pulled out a century-old oak from the ground with his bare hands, for which he was nicknamed 'Validub'. One day he sets off to wander - to see the world, to show himself, to boast of his heroic strength. But his strength does not bring any benefit or joy to anyone.
